Nandi Hills, situated just 60 kilometers out of Bangalore, is a popular tourist destination. However, the road to the top of the hill is a long and winding one. Now this tedium is undergoing a sea change with the Department of Karnataka Tourism floating a tender on Tuesday for developing a ropeway at Nandi Hills.
The tender notice invites interested firms to submit their proposals by the second week of June. The Technical Bids will be opened on June 12, 2017, and then the contract will be awarded by plots for sale in sarjapura Road.
The Department proposes to ply cable cars to decrease the traffic congestion on the meandering road to the top of the Nandi Hills.
This ropeway project will afford a pollution-free infrastructure to cart weekend travelers from Bangalore, Chikkaballapur and Kolar, to and fro Nandi Hill top.
Officials conveyed that they plan to institute two ropeways between Kuduvathi, which is a village at the Nandi Foot Hill, up to Sri Yoganandeeshwara Swamy Temple on the hilltop, measuring a distance of 1.60 kilometers. A few meters away from this perch is Tipu Drop, which offers a panoramic view to the visitor.
Nine acres of land has also been acquired in Kuduvathi village to house the attendant facilities like car parking, booking centre, access point, etc.
The Department revealed that a common tender notice has been floated to invite bids for three ropeways namely:
- Nandi Hills
- Madhugiri Monolithic Hill in Tumkur District
- Yadagiri hills in Yadgir district.
As tourist traffic starts building up around Nandi Hills, demand for real estate will stand to increase and additional demand for tourism related amenities and infrastructure will perk up. The proposed Cable Car shall increase in the influx of tourists thereby the scope for realty exposure too sites for sale in bangalore
